This partnership will mean that students studying our media courses will have access to workshops and presentations, both inhouse and virtually with the Brighton-based organisation.

Representatives from Screen and Film School will provide detailed and supportive emails to students about Screen and Film School opportunities and support them with UCAS applications and personal statements. As part of the partnership agreement, preferential status will be given to student applications to the school.

Staff from the Screen and Film School will also work with our media teachers on their professional development and training.

Students will have the opportunity to visit the film school and have a private tour to see its high-tech facilities and equipment. Our colleges will have a dedicated contact at the Screen and Film School, and as part of the new arrangement the school, they will attend Activate Learning’s Higher Education and careers fairs.

Students studying our Media pathway at our Reading College and City of Oxford College will be the first to benefit from the partnership, which will then be rolled out to other colleges later.

Soumaya Arfa, Media Teacher at Activate Learning, said: “This partnership will provide a massive opportunity for students to extend their education and work with industry professionals in Brighton.

“This partnership will help students to develop their professionalism and build a greater work ethic by having direct experience of what it is like to work in a professional environment.

“We are so excited to support students to attend workshops, live experiences, visit the Screen and Film School in Brighton and to work with the school to engage our students through the Higher Education fairs, careers events and work experience opportunities.”

Screen and Film School works with over 100 schools and colleges across the country.
