In association with Gavin Webster of the McKay clan and The Holiday Inn, Oxford, B4 is delighted to present its first Burns Night on 25th January, 2024.

Get dressed up with a touch of tartan to celebrate the Scottish poet and lyricist, Robert ‘Robbie’ Burns.

Following your arrival at the recently refurbished Holiday Inn where you will be greeted by a bagpiper and a glass of prosecco, guests will be lead to the Radcliffe Suite to be formally welcomed by our host, Gavin. Before dinner we will hear the Selkirk Grace and then sit down to Cullen Skink (Scottish soup) and the main course. This will be followed by the traditional ‘piping in’ of the Haggis. Gavin will address the haggis and recite the eight-verse traditional poem.

After the main course of haggis, ‘neeps & tatties’ we will hear a lighthearted poem from one of the B4 Members followed by Scottish Cranachan Cheescake (whipped cream, oats, whisky and raspberries).

The dinner will close with a toast to Robert Burns.

Then the dancing! But don’t worry, we’ll be opening the bar first before the Ceilidh dancing begins!
