The Greener Greenham Group has been established by local residents and Greenham parish councillor, Alison Blackborow.  Its aim is to make a positive impact on the local community and environment by planting bulbs, trees and shrubs to provide habitats for wildlife.

Newbury Metro Bank colleagues Emily Simister and Clarise Chivers joined other Greener Greenham volunteers to plant trees in Newbury.

“As a community bank we are keen to make a difference locally and planting trees knowing they will be around for years for people to enjoy was a fantastic project to get stuck into,” explains Emily Simister, Metro Bank’s Newbury assistant store manager. “Despite the somewhat gloomy weather it was great to be outside and the results of our labours were both dramatic and instantaneous!”

Metro Bank’s Newbury store is located at 64 – 65 Northbrook St, Newbury RG14 1AE. The store is currently open Monday – Saturday 08:30am – 6pm. Sunday: 11am – 5pm.
