Maymessy in collaboration with Refugee Resource

We are mentoring 11 women into a food related business. Today we had a cake workshop, photos taken for their Face Book pages and a feast of food from all over the world. We also had the two Be friending groups over and the women met for the first time live and not on ZOOM!

Mentoring

We offer mentoring with a difference. We are mentoring 11 ladies from charity Refugee Resource into a food related business over the next two years.

Mentoring women into work

I am volunteering my time over the next two years by supporting 11 women from Refugee Resource charity to set up their own food related businesses. Ideas so far are a samosa stall, a hibiscus juice bar and frozen cultural meals.

We will be working with women who have already set up successful businesses to support the group in a kind and nurturing way. We will set up peer to peer support groups and skill them up and build up confidence levels.

June 30th 2021 will bring all these ladies together with dishes to share at Maymessy and Daisy Pratt giving a talk about her cake business.

Much of Maymessy’s appeal lies in the charm of its location and the beauty of its surroundings overlooking the Vale of the White Horse. For adults and children, the centre will provide a “breathing space”, both literal and metaphorical.
