US research organisation creates new campus to build collaborations across the Oxfordshire’s life science ecosystem

To facilitate the development of the Ellison Institute’s new Oxford campus, The Oxford Science Park has agreed to sell a 150-year lease on a 3.5 acre site in the park.

This will connect directly with the adjacent 5.9-acre Littlemore House site that the Ellison Institute acquired in December 2021, creating a major presence in Oxford.

The Ellison Institute’s Oxford campus will provide a permanent home to research laboratories, a patient clinic, offices, and collaborative spaces supporting Ellison Institute projects, including the Global Health Security Consortium’s work on pandemic preparedness.

The development will enable the Ellison Institute to collaborate extensively with companies and organisations across the Park, as well as the wider Oxford innovation ecosystem. The new location also enables the Ellison Institute to expand its existing partnership with Oxford Nanopore Technologies, one of the major international companies based at the Park.

Rory Maw, CEO of The Oxford Science Park, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the Ellison Institute to the Park and look forward to working with the team to help deliver their vision for the new Oxford campus.

“This commitment will reinforce the ground-breaking research and development already taking place on the Park, delivering benefits and opportunities for our occupiers and the wider Oxford innovation ecosystem.”
